Journeying together
Life can be challenging. Following Jesus is hard work.
We all need fellow travelers to help us along the way. Pleasant View Youth is here to offer a place where you can find companions for the Journey! We're a group of teenagers, 6th through 12th grade, committed to growing in our relationship with Jesus and with each other. We worship together, we study and pray together, we eat together, play together, and support each other. We'd love to have you join us! |
Life Groups
Life Groups are the heart of our youth ministry! Life Groups are groups of friends who get together once a week to hang out, share prayer requests and pray for each other, study the Bible, play some games, and, of course, EAT! Above all else, we support each other as we grow together in our relationships with Jesus and with each other. |
Sunday Night Live
One Sunday each month, everyone comes together for Sunday Night Live! Hosted by a different Life Group each month, Sunday Night Live features a meal, games, crazy activities, and a youth speaker. |
Prayer Breakfasts
What better way to get your school-day started than by having breakfast at Starbucks or Bojangles, hearing a short devotion, and riding to school on the church bus!! We have Prayer Breakfasts for Abingdon High School, EB Stanley Middle School, John Battle High School, and Wallace Middle School. |
Spring, Fall and Winter Retreats
We live in a beautiful part of the country, and we're blessed with awesome mountains, incredible scenery, and tons of opportunities to get out into nature! Whether it's a Spring Retreat where we tackle a high ropes course, a Fall Retreat featuring some whitewater rafting, or our annual Winter Retreat in Pigeon Forge - Resurrection - we love to go on retreat! |
Mission Trips
One of our primary goals is to enable teenagers to grow as disciples, becoming true Jesus-followers. That's why we have such a huge focus on missions. Each June we travel to Johns Island, SC, where we spend a week helping residents have a decent place to live. Our international mission trips - to places like Nicaragua, Belize, Costa Rica or Honduras - are usually in July. These life-changing experiences feature sports evangelism, construction, children's ministry, youth ministry, and more! |
SERVE and SERVE@Home
Of course, mission work doesn't just happen across the country or around the world. It also happens right here in Abingdon and Washington County. SERVE, a ministry of Therefore Go Ministries, brings volunteers from around the US and Canada to our church for a week of outreach ministry. And SERVE@Home provides a great opportunity for our own youth group to serve right here, you guessed it ...at home!! |
We believe that a life totally dedicated to following Jesus Christ is the absolute best way to live! We want to help you develop your relationship with Jesus and achieve that level of discipleship.
You're invited. Join us on the journey. Come, just as you are! |
